Cookbook

One of my goals when writing cookbooks was to make sure they didn't read like a textbook that happened to contain recipes. I wanted them to feel like we were standing in the kitchen together, cooking, chatting, and occasionally confessing things we probably shouldn't.

Which is how little notes like this ended up in the book:

"I store these out of view so I don't gobble them up."

For context, this note appears after one of the sweet treat recipes.

In my defense, they're delicious.

Also, in my defense, I did hide them.

What happened after that is between me and the snack cabinet.

Tell me I'm not the only one who's ever hidden a treat from themselves... only to remember exactly where it was five minutes later. 😂👇
